Retail Pricing Tips
The suggested price on the teas is $6.89; that is also the price you will find listed on the Four Elements website. I do not consider Four Elements’ web presence a competitor to brick-and-mortar locations because the flat shipping fee of $6.89 the company applies to all retail orders is a deterrent for most customers to make an online purchase. The teas and creams can be found on Amazon, but again it doesn’t seem to be a threat to sales. The MSRP of $6.89 for the teas equals a 40 percent profit margin, assuming you reach the $100 minimum for free shipping. My suggestion is to retail the teas for $6.99 each and to only order or reorder when you can reach the minimum $100 order for free shipping.
The top-selling teas are Minus Sinus, Peppermint Nettle, Peace Harmony &Tranquility, Power Energy & Stamina, Triple Lemon, Joy Love & Passion, Tulsi Telepatea, To Your Health, and After Dinner Fennel Mint.
Important: Because this line has great packaging, it is important to place the retail pricing sticker on the bottom or the back of the product.
Buying Tip: I suggest you order the following for your opening order: One case of six of the six flavors of your choice. Reorder as soon as you reach the $100 mark so you do not risk running out of the teas. This is a minimum investment for a great unique line of product. Running out of product will nudge customers to the Internet.
When I met Four Elements founder and herbalist Jane Hawley Stevens, I was impressed with her in-depth knowledge and passion for her products, especially the creams. Consider adding to your opening tea order the cream “Look No X Ma!” I am told it is Four Elements’ best-selling item. Explore the other creams after seeing what “Look No X Ma!” does for sales.
After you place your order, email firstname.lastname@example.org and request that Four Elements add your store name and address to its website store locator. Don’t forget to identify yourself as an NCPA member.
When you read the introduction to Four Elements on its website, you will know you are not dealing with just another tea company. The best way to sell this product is to have a passion for it. Read as much as you can about this great line.
The other best way to sell this product is to sample the teas. Start with one day a week and see what happens. Email email@example.com to ask about free samples, signage, and displays.
To display, stack a pyramid of one each of six of the flavors on either a checkout or pick-up counter. Merchandise the teas near your vitamins on an eye-level shelf. Double-face the product until the entire 3- or 4-foot shelf offers a full-facing of teas. Keep an eye on your sales; you may find it beneficial to devote an entire end-cap to the teas. Cross-merchandise the “Minus Sinus” Tea in the cough & cold category of your store.
